YouTuber Li Ke Tai Tai’s Ex-Husband Indicted for Sharing Private Legal Documents

A legal battle between Taiwanese YouTuber Li Ke Tai Tai and her ex-husband has escalated once again, as prosecutors have indicted John Wu for allegedly sharing sensitive legal documents with strangers online.
The case dates back to 2022 when Li Ke Tai Tai accused Wu of uploading their divorce lawsuit documents, which contained her personal information, onto Google Drive and sharing them via Instagram messages with at least five netizens.
Prosecutors determined that this act violated Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act.
Wu denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was unaware of the documents' contents due to his limited proficiency in Chinese.
However, prosecutors found that he could recognize basic Chinese characters, including names and common words, making his defense unconvincing.

The couple, who divorced in 2021, have been embroiled in multiple lawsuits regarding financial disputes and personal matters.
Meanwhile, Li Ke Tai Tai herself was previously accused of illegally obtaining Wu’s medical records for use in their legal battles, a case that remains under trial.
This controversy highlights the risks associated with sharing sensitive legal information online.
With personal data privacy becoming an increasing concern, this case raises questions about the need for stricter digital security measures in legal proceedings.
