A shocking incident occurred at a junior high school in Kuwana City, Mie Prefecture, where three students suffered burns during an art class after molten tin, heated to approximately 200 degrees Celsius, spilled from a pot.
According to the Kuwana City Board of Education, on the morning of the 12th, a female teacher was attempting to pour the heated tin into a mold as part of a sculpture-making activity when the handle of the pot unexpectedly loosened, causing the molten metal to spill onto the work table and scatter in multiple directions.
Eleven students and the teacher were affected, with the hot metal coming into contact with their skin and clothing.

Five students and the teacher sought medical attention, and three students sustained burns severe enough to cause blisters on their foreheads, hands, and legs.
In response, the city board of education issued an urgent notice to all elementary and junior high schools in the area, urging a thorough inspection of classroom equipment to prevent similar accidents.
